Organic Vermont Maple Syrup
We came across Wild Wood maple syrup by chance at Newburyport farmer's market this past summer and we're so excited to bring them to Green Tiger! This real Vermont maple syrup comes from sugar maple trees that have grown in a rural corner of Vermont for generations.
All the sap comes from a single source forest and flows straight to the evaporator, giving the syrup a true “taste of place” shaped by its soil, elevation, and trees. The result is a deep amber syrup with a smooth, velvety texture and rich, earthy sweetness. As a natural sweetener made from tree sap, it also retains minerals not found in refined sugars.
Wild Wood Maple won "Best in Class" and "Best in Show" at the 2025 Vermont Maple Festival.

Wild Woods Maple is a veteran and family owned business run by Katie and Rob, both native Vermonters. Their maple journey started small: boiling sap from 20 buckets on a propane turkey fryer in their empty woodshed. Each season brought the family upgrades, from their first evaporator and 170 buckets scattered through the forest to a tubing system that carries sap to a central tank. As their taps (and their neighbors’ trees) multiplied, so did their operation! Which led to a new sugar house in Walden, Vermont, where the business continues to grow.
Rob retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service, much of it spent teaching mountaineering at the Army Mountain Warfare School, to pursue his passion for maple. Today he leads production, maintains the tubing, and designed and helped build the new sugar house. Katie is the face of the business, sharing their story with customers, keeping operations running smoothly, and working in the forest on tubing. A former teacher with a master’s degree who has taught in Tanzania and Tibet, she also homeschools their two daughters, weaving maple production into their lessons.
