These dryer balls can be used 1000+ times before the felt start to become loose and unravel, so generally 2-5 years depending on how much laundry you do. Because they are made of natural wool, they can be composted. We are happy to take them if you don't have backyard compost or a composting service in your area.
We're also a big fan of repurposing. One way is to turn them into fabric fresheners by adding a few drops of essential oil and then place them in drawers and closets.
